Blondfire

The not-your-average indie pop group

Taking center stage: Blondfire.

Cover for Where the Kids Are EP

This band isn't be many technicalities "new" but are a band who's name hasn't been mentioned enough times in this world.

Calling out since 2004 (let's get them out there people!), this band is based off of the Los Angeles-sibling duo of Erica and Bruce Driscoll who make you fall head over heels in love with their music.

Seriously. Look at how damn cool they are.

Released in 2008, My Someday, was their debut album after signing with EMI records UK. Shortly after, Bruce stated they had parted paths with the label.

In august of 2012, they received a signing with Warner Bros. Records and Primary Music Wave. This victory came after the November 11th release of their single Where The Kids Are along with it's music video, both of which received much critical acclaim.

As of February 11th 2014, Young Heart is available on iTunes.
Young heart is the bands newest album and one you will never regret getting.

SCIENTIST ROCKS IT

I do apologize for not posting for an unforgivable amount of time, although I do have good reason. But we're not here for me, are we?

I will be writing on Blondfire soon enough, but for now please direct your attention to: Scientist.
I have written about this band before and have no shame in doing so again.

Having already introduced you to them, you hopefully went out to buy their music (foolish you if you hadn't).
Upon hearing they were going to be performing at a small location, I decided to see what they had in store this time as last time's performance was phenomenal.

And to say the least, they ROCKED IT.
This band seriously knows how to excite some teenagers with their speaker-jumping, switching instruments, and at one point had over half the band jamming it out on the drums!

Merely a small post on Scientist, it is also advice on seeing them whenever they are near you.

Make sure you follow them on twitter as well: @ScientistMusic

I'll be posting soon but meanwhile give some of these bands a listen to.

Soon to come: Blondfire.

BABY STRANGE

The Three Glasgow boys You Need To Know

Baby Strange, who wouldn't like them?
I didn't think such a great band could stay under the radar for so long! Introducting Baby Strange, composed of three uk boys from none other than Glasgow. Johnny Madden-guitar, Connaire McCann -drums, and Aidan McCann -bass, compose the line up for this one-of-a kind group.
They released their debut single on the 27th of May, Pure Evil (which is now availabe their soundcloud page) You HAVE to check it out. In fact if you're in the UK you can see them live in the next few weeks.

For this band, and I promise only this one, I'm not going to tell what this band's music sounds like so you can go listen to it for yourself. I'm being hopeful that you're curious enough to do so because it will be worth it.
They will be playing the 27th of June on Thursday in Glasgow at the 13th note (there's only 100 tks at the door),  on Saturday July 13th at T in the Park (BBC intro. stage at 1:15 pm)
check the entire line up here for T in the park (http://www.tinthepark.com/line-up/2013-line-up.aspx), which also includes Mumford & Sons, The Proclaimers, The Lumineers, and The Killers.
If these dates are too soon, then you'll be happy to know that they are playing a the Hot House Stage Friday, August 2nd at 3:45 pm.
Check out their Facebook page for more concert dates and make sure to like them (Facebook page noted underneath)

Temples

                                                   the 60's throwback boys
two of the four boys
Raining down upon us from Kettering, UK are the Temples. Four British boys [James Bagshaw(vocals, guitar), Thomas Warmsley(bass, backup vocals), Sam Toms(drums), Adam Smith(keyboards)] bring us a taste of a slightly recreated psychedelia or as they prefer it be called, neo-psych.

You're probably wondering "yeah ummm that doesn't make sense." Well, think trippy, retro, soothing, old school music or just go and get their songs. You won't regret it.

They released their first single last year on November 12th, Shelter Song which was followed shortly after by Prisms. They are currently on tour in Europe with most of their stops in the UK.
